Hafriyat Karaköy

MURAT AKAGÜNDÜZ

He was born in 1970 in İzmit/Gölcük. He graduated from MSÜ Fine Arts Faculty, Drawing department . At demonstration atelies he worked on lithography and fresco.

In 1995 he was in the formation of the art group "Hafriyat" and worked actively in all projects in the group. The group which stays in the area  in between of life and art, created an experiment field such as  "to build  new living areas"  to itself. Arranged many exhibitions  other then Istanbul such as Diyarbakır, Eskişehir, Kayseri and Ankara and abroad. To sample these works;

Between 1996- 2008 ;  1999 "Super Hafriyat" exhibition at El Hamra Art Galery. 2000 "Öz Hafriyat" exhibitions at Eskişehir Anatolian University. "Hayin Geceler" exhibition in 2002 at a depo at Beyoğlu which was not an art location. In 2004 "Yalan Dünya" exhibition was in Münih with the invitation of Munich Rathaus Galery. 2005 "Project:İmalat Hatası(Production Fault)" exhibition was exhibited in 9th Istanbul Bienal, Artrepo 5th lot in Istanbul. Again in 2006 "Lokal Cennet - Çağdaş Nakliyat" (Local Paradise-Cotemporary Transport).  Diyarbakır exhibition in Diyarbakır Art Center. "Hafriyat Karakoy - Çeşitli Sanatlar Alemi" an independent art location and initiative opening exhibition " 1 Mayis" was turned into life with "Hafriyat" group. And again continuing projects that give a reflex action to Turkey's politic, social agenda .

Since 1996 , here are some of  the selected domestic and abroad invitations

1999 "Ayşe ve Ercüment Kamlık Vakfı" award exhibition. "60 years 60Artists" named and exhibited in İstanbul Art Fair which was invited by "Eczacı Başı culture  and Art Foundartion ''. In 2003  İstanbul's first modern art museum "Istanbul Modern" at the selection of "Gözlem, Yorum, Çeşitlilik". Curator  Levent Çalıkoğlu's 2005"Sınır Deneyimleri" Aksanat İstanbul exhibition. In 2007 , with Turkey's other modern art museum "Santral Istanbul Modern Arts Museum" s  initiative and invitation, "Modern ve Ötesi"exhibition .In  Frankfurt 2008 , named  "Ernest Barlach Museumsgesellschaft Hamburg", curator  Heike Stokhaus's organisation "Made in Turkey" exhibitions can be counted. The exhibition by the name of ''new works,New horizons at the İstanbul Modern Art Museum was realized in 2009.İn the same year he took place in the exhibition''450 million years of friendship''at Hafriyat Karaköy.

Between 1995-2008  different artist groups and personal exhibiton works can be listed.

In 1995 "Ekol" art galery,with the invitation of İş Bankası Art Galery in 2003, named "Hayali Seyir"exhibition was based on the idea  "utopia, architecture and vacation".

With the "Kayıp Hayaller" exhibition, the concept " center and out of center" was made on metropole Istanbul architecture in 2004. After that  with Turkey's capital, Ankara's imaginative, "memorial architecture and memorial statues" works were exhibited in Ankara Galery Nev under the name of "Ankara".And finally with his four friends he made "Eşyanın Tabiatı"exhibition in Karşı Art Works Galery.He realised  the exibition named ''arada-(in between)''by his works which he set up on the idea of public spaces and its sociology  at ''OKK'' gallery in Berlin.
