MAKUL / ACCEPTABLE:

Hafriyat Karaköy, is housing the exhibition  'Makul'(Acceptable) which is organized by Lambdaistanbul, a lesbian/gay/bisexual/transvestite/transexual  mutual benefit association active since 1993. The exhibition will be the first big organization by Lambaistanbul and will feature the works fo 30 different artists/art collectives coming from different disciplines such as sculpture, painting, photography, video, performance, installation.

The exhibition aims to quesiton the experiences of the people in LBTT, the identity politics, the pressures faced ad the remedies found to these pressures (based in the concepts of heterosexism and society ) by those people, using works of art.

The artists will discuss topics such as sexual orientation and sexual identity, using the linkages such as family, militarism, sensor, sexsim and the presentation of the body. By doing so, they will give clues to how the individual is being normalized, restricted and inspected by forces such as focal points of the society and competence .
